ESP32-S3 Camera and Sensor Mega Starter Guide

This guide is for the ESP32-S3 camera and sensor mega starter kit. Treat it as two systems that meet later: camera first, sensors second, dashboard third, AI handoff last.

Camera path

1. Confirm PSRAM and camera ribbon seating.
2. Run a simple camera stream at low resolution.
3. Save one still frame in good lighting.
4. Check thermal behavior after five minutes of WiFi streaming.

Sensor path

Bring up one sensor at a time. Print raw values to serial before showing them on a page or display. For motion, distance, light, sound, temperature, and humidity modules, record units and sample interval.

Combined demo

After camera and sensors work separately, build a combined dashboard with camera snapshot, sensor values, last update time, and error count. Only then send still frames to an AI vision backend.

Troubleshooting

• Camera stream fails after adding sensors: check power budget and free GPIO conflicts.
• Sensor readings jump: slow polling and keep wires short.
• AI result is poor: improve lighting and save the source frame for comparison.
